Melissa Pietraszewski, PT, DPT
Melissa is an experienced Physical Therapist with a background treating orthopedic conditions from hospital to outpatient care. She brings a functional approach to her treatment while constantly analyzing a patient’s whole-body response to treatment. Melissa encourages her patients to take an active role in their therapy sessions, and she personalizes treatments to restore patients back to their ideal level of function.
She has completed several courses to further her education including Part A and B from The McKenzie Institute. She has also completed several courses focusing on manual therapy techniques and treatment strategies for the orthopedic population. She is trained in custom orthotic molding and has also completed course work in Vestibular Therapy.
Prior to co-founding Optimal Physical Therapy, Melissa worked as a contract physical therapist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, providing outpatient and inpatient orthopedic care as well as outpatient polytrauma care. She also provided outpatient orthopedic care at Buffalo Rehab Group and The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics.
Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degrees at Daemen College in Amherst, NY. Originally from Boonville, New York, Melissa enjoys traveling with her husband Michael, cooking at home, and snuggling with her dog Roscoe.
